Rustic Cherry Cake

Have a listen to this cookery podcast by Sue Pallett who's blind. Amy stumbled across it. Look up Cherry Cake at www.sueskitchen.org.uk

Sue bakes what she calls a Rustic Cherry Cake, named because it cracks on the surface when it's baking. It reminds me more of an old fashioned cherry cake, (as it's made with glace cherries) which sings of village fete or jumble sale and of which I can't remember the last time I tasted one, but from listening to Sue I definitely want a warm slice with my tea.

I have never thought of cooking if you were blind. Just the way that Sue lines the tin and explains you how to feel the top of the cake to tell when it's cooked, is fascinating.
